3.5-Inch, 10K RPM Enterprise Hard Disk Drive Specifications
Overview
The MAW SCSI series is the latest generation Hard Disk
products from Fujitsu offering low profile, high speed and high capacity
to high performance enterprise computing applications.
The MAW (NC) series comes with a 80-pin SCA2 interface connector,
spindle speed of 10K RPM and capacities of 73, 147 and 300GB. Areal
density has doubled and internal drive transfer rates have been
increased by 22% to 132 MB/s when compared to the previous MAP series. The
drive is also equipped with an 8MB multi-segmented data buffer
combined with a 32-bit wide internal data path for faster data access.
The MAW NC/NP series supports the Ultra 320 SCSI (320MB/s)
interface which offers new performance and reliability enhancing features
such as data packet protocol, quick arbitration and selection, and signal
pre-compensation.
Drive Features
- Large capacity: Massive
capacity has been achieved through the development of head, media,
signal processing technology, servo technology*1 as an
element technology allowing up to to 11Gb/cm2 (75Gb/in 2) high density
and up to 75GB*2 per disk, 300GB*2 per drive (4
disks) high capacity.

Performance: Read Ahead Cache *3 and Write
Reordering Cache *4 enable the drives to execute read and
write operation in high speed.

Reliability: On the fly ECC (Error Correction Code) and
S.M.A.R.T *5 function enable the drives to improve the data
reliability.
- Silence: FDB
spindle motor is incorporated for silent operation.
- RoHS Compliance:
This HDD is designed to meet the requirements of the European
Union's RoHS directive.

media.
*2: Fujitsu defines 1 gigabyte (GB) as 1,000,000,000 bytes for Hard Disk
Drives' storage capacity size.
*3: The read ahead reading function for the consecutive data read
command.
*4: The function for reducing the operational time by managing the order
of multiple write commands.
*5: The function for monitoring the operation in HDD and forecasting the
failure
