Overview:

Classified as a JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks), the Dell PowerVault 220S is an expandable disk storage array capable of housing up to fourteen 3.5-inch disk drives in a single 3U rack enclosure. Available in either a rack-optimized or tower (PowerVault 221S) form-factor, the modular chassis deign enables availability and performance to be customized to match service level requirements. Includes Dell OpenManage Storage Manager which provides a full set of disk configuration and management utilities. Optional installation and custom support services are available to enhance the user experience.

Dell PowerVault 220S storage enclosures are the ideal choice for disk expansion on PowerEdge servers. The disk expansion enclosures can be attached to one server in a 14-drive joined-bus configuration; to one or two servers in a split-bus configuration where each bus controls seven drives; or, to two servers with 13 drives as part of a cluster configuration.
