Direct Attached Storage / DAS
Direct-attached storage
(DAS) refers to a digital
storage system directly
attached to a server or
workstation, without a
storage network in
between. It mainly used to
differentiate non-networked
storage from
SAN and NAS.
These direct attached storage raid
and jbod enclosures from
Enhance
Technologies and others
allow you to use SATA,
SAS, or SCSI drives and directly
connect to your system
using SAS, SCSI, Fibre
Channel interface. The RAID
enclosures usually features
a built-in RAID controller
for raid storage setup and
are usually OS independent.
